46. Saturn Ion

The American automotive manufacturer that broke into the market with made-in-the-USA vehicles, proved that what was once was a pipe dream could actually be a reality. For a while, this company only saw success, until one of their cars slowed their quest for world domination.

With a smaller-than-average engine carrying what was one of the longest four-door sedans on the market at that time, the Saturn Ion was one of the biggest under-performing vehicles of all time. Its slow-moving nature coupled with the lack of passenger protection from a sidewards impact resulted in the company doing away with the Ion in 2007.
